ADAM PENKHUS

Adam spent much of his childhood moving around to new cities and states with his parents.  Through his experiences, he has developed a great sense of empathy for peoples’ need to connect to others for comfort and support. As such, he can often be found teaching local gifted students at the grade school level on trial advocacy. These sessions involve complex cases such as the “Three Little Pigs” and “Jack and the Bean Stock” to spark their curiosity in legal issue spotting with familiar story lines. In his professional career, Adam has worked helping uniquely skilled individuals and their families immigrate to the United States and become successful members of their communities.  He has been a writer for national publications on the topic of zoning and land use law.

He has advocated in front of numerous state and local governments, including being a member of the talented team of professionals that ultimately obtained approval for life flights to help children at a downtown Chicago hospital. He also helped design one of the city’s largest indoor/outdoor soccer complexes for children. Currently, he has his own law practice where he focuses on advising small to mid-size companies and real estate developers. Getting to know the people he represents, as if they were family, is the best way he’s found to help them accomplish their goals. He is also a consultant to a national law firm for various complex matters.

Adam studied Economics at the University of Notre Dame and received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago John Marshall Law School.
